MESSNER in Ecuador and NEUMANN in Australia
We were searching for the heirs of Zikmund (Sigmund) MESSNER in Quito, Ecuador and
They are related, but we do not yet know how.

Their parents were Eduard and Julie NEUMANN We have found out that an Oskar NEUMANN born on 30 October 1895, departed for Australia on the SS Ugolina Vivaldi on 28 July 1949 from Genoa - destined for New South Wales.
Elsewhere we have learned that Oskar NEUMANN, passenger number 510, on board the "Ugolino Vivaldi" arrived in Fremantle on 24 Aug, disembarking Sydney (probably a week later). The ship belonged to the Llyod Triestino Line and had departed from Genova. He was accompanied by Anna NEUMANN, passenger #511. Both gave their nationality as "alien".
We have now learned that Oskar was buried in Sydney on December 18th, 1951
Additional family information: Oskar NEUMANN was a cousin of Emil BIENEFELD. Emil was born on 25 Nov. 1891 and was sent to Auschwitz on transport Em, 1 Oct. 1944. He survived and was released in Gleiwitz.
Anna GLASNER(ova) (Gläsnerova) nee FISCHER(ova) had been on transport Cc from Prague to Theresienstadt (Terezin) on 20 Nov. 1942, and on transport # Dr on 15 Dec. 1943 to Auschwitz.
